I get disconnected from the Internet after checking my mail.
Problem / Symptoms
After checking your mail in Outlook Express you (always) get disconnected from the Internet.
Cause / More Info
Your computer is set to automatically disconnect after receiving email. This setting is not
active by default, but sometimes inadvertently gets turned on. This configuration is generally
undesirable to most users.
Fix / Solution
Follow the steps below to deactivate the "Hang up after sending and receiving" option.
1. Open Outlook Express (your mail client).
2. Select Tools from the menu bar at the top & click Options.
3. Click the Connection tab at the top.
4. Uncheck the "Hang up after sending and receiving" option.
7. Click the OK button.
8. Exit Outlook Express.
